Her career goal is to become a speech and language pathologist. The aim of her work is to bring more awareness to speech-language pathology. In general, she feels that we don’t hear much about SLP and what they do for patients. In the medical field, we often hear about nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physicians. As an SLP, you can choose from many different areas of specialization within the medical field. She is interested in working with patients recovering from brain traumas and children who have language and communication difficulties in stroke rehabilitation centers. The ICU floor at the heart hospital as a PCT gave her a lot of opportunities to learn. It is gratifying to observe patients’ growth from the day they enter the hospital until the day they leave. It is a rewarding feeling to see the quality-of-life change for a patient.
