UTA TEAMS UP TO GROW BIOTECH WORKFORCE
The University of Texas at Arlington is playing a key role in training the future of the biotech industry in North Texas.
Through an $8.8 million grant awarded to Dallas College by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, UTA will work with Collin College, Dallas College and Tarrant County College to create a new regional career training pathway in biotechnology, biomanufacturing and bioinformatics.

UTA TO HOST TEXAS HEALTH INFORMATICS ALLIANCE CONFERENCE
UTA will host the second annual Texas Health Informatics Alliance (THIA) Conference in the Bluebonnet Ballroom inside the E.H. Hereford University Center. This marks the first time the conference—a collaboration with UT Health Science Center at Houston and UT Southwestern Medical Center—will be held in person.

INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL INFORMATICS ASSOCIATION NAMES DR. MARION BALL AS AN HONORARY MEMBER
Marion J. Ball has been named an Honorary Member by the International Medical Informatics Association: Nursing Informatics Special Interest Group (IMIA-NI). Dr. Ball, the Raj and Indra Nooyi Endowed Distinguished Chair in Bioengineering, is also a Presidential Distinguished Professor, a tenured professor in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, and Executive Director for the Multi-Interprofessional Center for Health Informatics.

CONHI FACULTY HELPING WRITE THE BOOK ON NURSING INFORMATICS
A new edition of Nursing Informatics: A Health Informatics, Interprofessional and Global Perspective is now on pre-order and boasts two University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI) faculty as editors. Marion Ball, the Raj and Indra Nooyi Endowed Distinguished Chair in Bioengineering as well as presidential distinguished professor in CONHI and Gabriela Wilson, professor of kinesiology, are both co-editors of the 5th edition of this classic textbook.

UTA, TARRANT COUNTY TEAM UP TO REDUCE COVID-19 DISPARITIES
A multidisciplinary team from The University of Texas at Arlington received a two-year, $500,000 grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) to help Tarrant County residents better understand COVID-19 health information.
