The University of Texas at Arlington has joined two fellow University of Texas System institutions in forming the Texas Health Informatics Alliance (THIA), which aims to build informatics ties across the state through research, data, policy, education standards and workforce development.

The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) has elected four faculty members from The University of Texas at Arlington as Senior Member of the organization’s latest class – the most of any university in the nation.

The University of Texas at Arlington has taken a major step toward fulfilling its goal of becoming a leader in health informatics by hiring Marion Ball, a member of the National Academy of Medicine, and Gabriela Wilson, who served as chair of the University of Southern Indiana’s Health Informatics and Information Management Program.
